Devlog: Walkable Low-Poly Forest World – Bringing the Assets to Life 🌿

For my next release, I wanted to do more than just share models—I wanted to show how they can be used. So I created a walkable virtual forest using my own asset pack!

This low-poly world is now available as a browser-based demo, so you can explore it instantly—no download required. Just open the link, walk around, and see the forest in action.

The scene includes my handcrafted trees, flowers, animals, and other elements, brought together to offer a peaceful, playful environment.

Lessons & Challenges

One big challenge was getting the shaders to work in the web version. I originally used the beautiful Stylized Sky by Gotibo, and while it looked amazing in the editor, it didn’t transfer well into the browser build. I had to quickly create a simpler sky to get the demo working online. It’s not what I envisioned, but I plan on improving that part soon!

I also learned that separating each asset into its own file makes importing into game engines like Godot way easier. That’s something I didn’t know when I first started. I’ll be releasing individual files for each model going forward to support game makers better.
